Book Breaks with Kate Masur on Freedom Was in Sight: A Graphic History of Reconstruction in the Washington, D.C., Region

Date & Time:  March 9, 2025, 02:00 PM in Eastern Time (US and Canada)

Together with illustrator Liz Clarke, prize-winning historian Kate Masur has created a graphic history that showcases Reconstruction in a sophisticated and beautiful fashion. The stories and words of Black Americans in Washington, D.C. and its surrounding region spring from the pages. Bravely working to reunite their families, acquire land, and construct schools and churches, these Americans claimed rights long denied them.
