Anthony Benezet: Quaker, Abolitionist, Anti-Racist

Anthony Benezet was first and foremost a teacher. His students included boys and girls, both Black and White, which was unusual in the eighteenth century. An exciting new biography by best-selling author David Chanoff shares how this teacher became an activist, why Founding Fathers like Benjamin Rush and Benjamin Franklin moved into Benezet’s orbit, and how Philadelphia became a nexus for transatlantic abolitionism.
